ACCESSIBLE ONLY BY WATERCRAFT OR SEAPLANE, PINE ISLAND RETREAT IS A PRIVATE SANCTUARY IN THE HEART OF LONG LAKE OFFERING THE PERFECT BLEND OF WILDERNESS, TRANQUILITY AND RECREATION.
ABOUT THE ISLAND
Here, you’ll find everything that makes the Pine Island Retreat experience seamless: private parking, boat slips, laundry facilities, pickleball courts, and access to beautiful shared spaces like gardens and the sandy beach.

THE ISLAND EXPERIENCE
Every visit to Pine Island Retreat is unique. Whether you have just a few hours or a few days, each experience is designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and soak in the beauty of Long Lake — your way.

Absolute Privacy
Your Island. Only Yours.
Arrive by boat, shuttle, or seaplane and step directly onto your own private island. From the moment you leave the dock, Pine Island is exclusively yours, no other guests, no shared spaces, no interruptions. Your party will be the only group on the island for the duration of your stay. We regularly host high-profile guests and operate with complete discretion. Names are never shared. Presence is never disclosed. This is true seclusion, designed for those who value privacy above all else.

A Thousand Feet of Shoreline
An Island Made to Explore.
Pine Island is wrapped in over 1,000 feet of varied, untouched shoreline. Swim from sandy beaches, slip into deep-water ledges, cast a line from quiet fishing spots, or discover hidden features like Whale Rock, Sunset Rock, the lagoon, the grotto, and natural stone bathtubs formed by the lake itself. With multiple swimming areas, sunrise and sunset vantage points, and endlessly changing views, the island invites exploration at every turn.

Firelight by comfort
Gather Where the Day Needs You.
Three thoughtfully placed lakeside firepits create natural gathering points across the island. One welcomes sunset conversations, another hosts late-night bonfires under the stars, and a third invites quiet morning fires as the lake wakes up. Each firepit is surrounded by comfortable seating and picnic tables, with lake-drawn hand pumps nearby for safety. Wherever you choose to light a fire, the water is always close.

Water Adventures Included
The Lake Is Your Playground.
Every stay includes full access to kayaks, paddleboards, snorkel gear, swim rafts, floats, water games, and fishing rods. Paddle the perimeter, drift in the sun, or explore underwater ledges and rocky shelves just offshore. Whether you’re active from sunrise to sunset or dipping in between moments of rest, the lake is always within reach.

Beaches, Ledges & Hidden Waters
Many Ways to Enter the Lake.
Pine Island offers multiple, distinct water entry points. Lounge on the sandy beach with Adirondack chairs set directly in the shallows, or follow natural stone steps down into sheltered lagoons, bathtubs, and swimming pockets tucked along the shoreline. Each area has its own character, from social and open to quiet and tucked away, so you can choose the mood that suits the moment.

Dining, Wherever You Please
Meals with a View, Every Time.
Enjoy meals in the cabin kitchen or gather around the twenty-foot communal picnic table designed for long, unhurried dinners. Smaller picnic tables and quiet eating spots are scattered across the island, offering places to dine alone by the water, share lunch on a sun-warmed rock, or stretch out on the soft island floor with something simple and good. There is no single dining area. Only choices.

Stargazing at the Center
Where Night Takes Over.
At the heart of the island sits a large, open stargazing rock with unobstructed views of the sky above. Two adults can comfortably lie back and watch the stars drift overhead. Stargaze from the dock, float quietly in the lake after dark, or swim beneath a sky unspoiled by artificial light. Nights here are as memorable as the days.

Wildlife & Wild Blueberries
Nature, Unfiltered.
In blueberry season, the island becomes a living pantry. Ripe berries growing everywhere, ready to be picked and eaten as you wander. Loons call across the lake, eagles soar overhead, and flying squirrels move quietly through the trees. Thanks to constant light breezes and the absence of standing water, the island is remarkably mosquito-free, allowing you to stay present with the landscape instead of retreating from it.

Deep Rest
However You Like to Unwind.
Relax inside the cabin, stretch out in one of four suspended Tentsile tree hammocks, drift on water hammocks, or nap along the shoreline where the ground stays cool and soft. Lounge chairs, quiet corners, and shaded resting spots are everywhere. There is no agenda here, only the freedom to slow down and let the island set the pace.
